Enrichment Charter:
At Iqra Academy our aim is to inspire young people to develop their skills, talents and character through a wide range of activities, to use their curiosity and creativity to find new ways of achieving their potential and to have the confidence, drive and resilience to follow their dreams.
We want every Iqra Academy student to have the opportunity to:
1. Experience the arts and culture
2. Experience live sporting events
3. Visit British places/regions outside their local community
4. Experience cultures and countries outside the UK
5. Be a good citizen in their local community
6. Gain valuable work experience
7. Develop their character
8. Make a positive contribution to society
9. Develop lifelong interests and skills for life
10. Learn outside the classroom
The Schools ‘Enrichment Charter’ supports the School values of Integrity, Quality, Respect and Aspiration, in providing opportunities in Community work, Careers, CCF, Drama, Arts, Music and Sports. This has resulted in a happier, healthier and successful School.
Student participation numbers in Enrichment Activities for 2024/25 are as follows;
Volunteer work – 94 – 100%; Fundraising – 94 – 100%; Cross Country – 94 – 100% Football Academy – 42 – 45%; Poetry Club – 28 – 30%; Art Club – 28 – 30%; Cricket Academy – 26 – 28%; Duke of Edinburgh Award – 22 – 23%; Drama Club – 16 – 17%; Debating Society – 16 – 17%; Choir – 16 – 17%; Leadership Team – 14 – 15%; Creative Writing Club – 14– 15%; Book Club – 14 – 15%.
Careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) is an essential part of the support we offer to students at Iqra Academy. it is vital that we support them to develop the knowledge and skills they need to make informed choices for their future. As a result, the careers programme, led by our designated Careers Officer, has a whole school remit designed to complement the rest of the school curriculum and to provide weekly guest speakers, work experience opportunities and visits to employer’s careers events. 100% of Students leaving Iqra Academy in 2024 went on to study A’ Levels in TDET and other City Schools.
