As a school we have a duty to ensure that students leave Iqra Academy as responsible citizens. We have a statutory duty to ensure that students understand the British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and this is something we feel very strongly about as we are such a multi-cultural school on the outskirts of a very multi-cultural city. We are committed to ensuring that students understand and respect the ever-changing multi-cultural and multi-faith nature of the community of Great Britain.  As a faith school with an Islamic ethos we emphasise the importance of these values being the essence of Islamic foundations of faith so they have a two fold basis in the lives of pupils<\/p>\n
