The National competition, which has been running since 2011 is sponsored by the English Schools Football Association. 2024. <br \/><strong>The School has now won a Total of 20 Major Football Trophies since 2016.<\/strong><br \/><em><strong>Iqra Academy have also been Awarded the \u2018Equal Access National Award\u2019 from the Barclays Girls Football School Partnerships, by England Football 2024 for its contribution to Girl\u2019s Football.<\/strong><\/em><br \/><em><strong>Iqra Academy has shared its success through a number of out-reach programmes and was the recipient of the Football Association Community Award for \u2018Best Inclusive Project.\u2019<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p><strong>The Muslim News \u2013 National Awards for Excellence in Sport:<\/strong><br \/>Iqra Academy celebrated after being shortlisted both in 2022 and 2023 for the Faezeh Hashemi Award for Excellence in Sport at The Muslim News National Annual Awards for Excellence, which took place in central London with guest speaker and presenter Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London.<\/p><p><strong>City of Peterborough Civic Award Winners:<\/strong><br \/>Iqra Academy School Football Team have been recognised for their Sporting Excellence and for promoting the City of Peterborough on the National Football Map. <br \/>The Right Worshipful, the Mayor of the City of Peterborough, Councillor Nick Sandford, presented the Cities \u2018Sports Award\u2019 to Iqra Academy at the Town Hall on 5th March 2024.<\/p><p>The School Cricket side teamed up with <strong>Cricket East<\/strong> to provide a Cricket Academy at School for all students every Thursday. This in support of the delivery of the \u2018ECB Inspiring Generations Strategy\u2019 project. Cricket East is a collaborative organisation responsible for delivering the England Cricket Board\u2019s (ECB) participation &amp; growth activities and supporting school cricket.<br \/>Our School Cricket team compete nationally, with several of the team going on to successfully pass the English Cricket Board \u2018Young Leaders Award.\u2019<\/p><p>All Students have undertaken the School Standard Fitness Test, which is based on the National Public Uniformed Services Entry Tests (Bleep test etc), on a termly basis.
